Whose perspective?

Many times I sit and think about things happening in my life and in the lives of those around me. I think about nature and how it looks and feels and smells. I think about whats good and whats not good. But the question the Lord posed to my heart today is: Whose perspective do you have? When I look at the challenges I have in my physical body do I claim His word that says by the stripes of Jesus I am healed? Do I shout from the rooftops that you Lord have said in your Word that you wish above all things that we be in health and prosper even as our soul prospers?(3John 1:2). When I look at creation and see the trees dying the flowers wilting the grass wither..do I remember that you have promiesed that one day all will be restored? When I see a wayward child that is rebellious and makes my heart ache...do I come to you in pray Abba and repeat your word to you that says... raise them up in the way that they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it?

Oh Lord truelly whose perspective do I have? When I look around my mind wants to stick to what I can see, feel, tase, touch, smell....I want the facts and I want to see it to beleive it. It is in my nature to want to prove the truth in things. But then another question comes to my mind. Is that walking in my own understanding? The Word of God says to lean not to our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct our paths.(Proverbs 3:5-6).

We live in a world that gives us a perspective very contrary to the Word of God and it can be hard to not take that perspective because it is what we can see. The Word of God however talks about faith being the substsance of things hoped for and the evidance of things not yet seen. In other words the Word of God is all truth no matter what we see in the natural. We know that God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent.....if He said it He will bring it to pass.

I wonder if many times we dont see things come to pass in our lives because we are seeing though stained glasses and what we see is the wrong perspective. Maybe if we asked the Lord to let us see our lives and the world around us though His eyes then we would have His perspective on matters. When we walk in the Spirit we stay in step with the Spirit. I once heard some one say that if we walk in the foot prints of our Lord then we will be in His perfect will because we dont get ahead of Him we stay right along His path as He leads us walking exactly were He walks...how can you go wrong that way!

Lord help me to seek your perspective and not my own. I want to see things as you see it and to have your truth, to walk in your faith, and to live in your love. Lord may I surrender my will for yor will and my ways for your ways..lead and guide me Abba I pray in Jesus name..amen

  1. It's hard to fathom the pain we cause ourselves by walking in our own way instead of allowing the Lord to lead us. When my husband was dying, I struggled so much with the scripture you quoted that say 'by His stripes we are healed'. I could not understand why my husband wasn't being healed. Then, the Lord spoke to my heart and told me my precious husband was soon to enjoy the greatest healing....the eternal presence of his Heavenly Father at the feet of his Savior. What a difference perspective makes! Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day!

    Many hugs..........
