There is a place in our Lord that each of us has that is a secret place. It is a place of wonderful communion. A place that is all our own, were no one can get in and He never leaves. There is a time when we go to this place, a special time that draws our hearts and bends our minds..it becons us to come.
For me this place in my Lord also has a physycal place. There is a special place were I go to meet with my Lord were i can cry, I can get angry, I can shout for joy or I can sit quiet and just take in His love. A place were time stands still and I am alone at last, free from the cares of the world and free from all distraction. This place is at the river just a 5 minute walk from my house. At the river is a large rock, i call it my prayer rock. When I found this rock i began to go there each day to pray and read my book of psalms. I quickly found that the Lord met me so wonderfully at the rock, after all He is the Rock.
I found a freedom to let go and be me, I can worship and sing or I can cry and shout my frustrations...it doesnt matter its just me and Him. Alone in His creation I sit and marvel at His beauty. I dont go to the prayer rock as much as I used to becase of my health but today I was so blessed to walk to the river once again. As I sat upon that rock I opened His word and i began to read out loud to His creation from the book of Psalms. As I read I found myself reading in a way I had not done before, it was as if I was narating it to all His creation and the words came alive in my heart.
I worshiped my Lord and looked up to see a duck floating on the current going down the river. And as i watched I noticed that this duck did not seem to be worried at all that the current was taking him downstream. No, he was just going with the flow, content in the water. And i dont know if the Lord dropped his in my spirit or what but i thoght to myself, that is what I need Lord...to be content in you, to live in your living water and to go with the flow, knowing that you my Lord take care of me! May you be so glorified, high and lifted up my Jesus, my Father, my Holy Spirit.....my love and my life..my God!

Lord help me to walk in your footprints so that i never get ahead of you and never get lead astray!

Oh, dear Mary, thank you so much! Your words have encouraged me and made me remember that this is exactly the place I must place myself. I must be content to rest in the Lord, to got with His flow as He washes His healing touch over my broken heart and wounded spirit!

Wonderful, Mary. Look forward to reading more of your writing.
ReplyDeleteGreat analogy here with the duck. I love how God simply shows us these things in our spirit..how the Holy Spirit leads us to truth in our innermost places. Praying for you today as you allow Him to take you to where He wants you to be and transform you into who He sees you will become.
